Words can't express my sorrow for our friends, neighbors, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and friends who come back with debilitating injuries that have changed their lives forever. Too many young people have seen things no one should ever see and done things they never thought they would have to do. I feel a deep sense of anguish for the spiritual pain they must have to live with. It breaks my heart to think of all of the young people who never got to live the full lives that they deserved and the broken-hearted families and friends that mourn them.
I condemn the cowardly politicians that have failed these outstanding individuals so terribly. The Veterans Administration scandal sickens me to the core. The attention these jackals pay to the most ridiculous issues while they let veterans die while they're waiting for medical care is a disgrace. Let's take care of our own.
So everyone enjoy their weekend, but shed a tear for those that never came home. God Bless America - we ARE exceptional.
