We have more to thank Colombia for than Sofia Vergara. Since the implementation of the United States - Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement in 2012, the Colombian digital and creative industries have made significant inroads in the United States. My company has been a beneficiary of this agreement - we entered into a partnership with a Colombian company (Brandca) to deliver web and graphic design services to our customers. I presented some tips to the Colombian creative and digital industries yesterday in partnership with ProColombia, the Colombian Trade Authority, on how Colombian companies can best do business in the United States. I'm sharing this presentation for two reasons:
- I want to make the material available to my Colombian friends to help them with their business efforts in the US.
- I wanted to make my US friends aware of the great outsourcing opportunities available with Colombian companies.
Colombia has a highly educated workforce and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. My experience has been primarily with the digital and creative industries. They provide a great value - quality equal to US companies, usually at a lower price. If you're looking for software development, web and mobile app design, gaming or call centers, I highly recommend you see what the Colombians have to offer. In addition to great work, they offer something most other outsourcing countries don't - convenience. The entire country is in the same time zone as the US east coast, with the exception that they don't use daylight savings time.
